Managing Editor
Candy Czernicki began her journalism career on the Nallwood Junior High Scroll in 1977 and never looked back. She holds a master of arts degree in journalism from Marquette University, Milwaukee, and formerly taught there in the journalism department. Following stints at the Milwaukee Catholic Herald and the South Milwaukee Voice Graphic, she currently covers courts and education for the Eau Claire (Wis.) Leader-Telegram. She regularly posts in our support forums as candybear.
Senior News Editor
Rick Nauert, Ph.D. has over 25 years experience in clinical, administrative and academic healthcare. Prior to joining myDNA.com, he worked as an operational consultant to several major health systems and health plans. His expertise includes utilization review and disease management. He is currently an associate professor for Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals doctoral program in health promotion and wellness.
Dr. Nauert began his career as a clinical physical therapist and served as a regional manager for a publicly traded multidisciplinary rehabilitation agency for 12 years. He has masters degrees in health-fitness management and healthcare administration and a doctoral degree from The University of Texas at Austin focused on health care informatics, health administration, health education and health policy. His research efforts included the area of telehealth with a specialty in disease management.

Dr. Marie Hartwell-Walker is licensed in Massachusetts as both a psychologist and marriage and family therapist and has been in practice for over 30 years. She has authored advice columns for parents, articles and books on classroom discipline for teachers, and various programs for human service agencies and industry. Grounded in Adlerian psychology, her focus is on helping people take more responsibility for themselves and get along better with others. Kristina Randle, LCSW is a licensed psychotherapist with extensive experience in the field of mental health. She works with adults, adolescents, children and families in both individual and group counseling settings. Her background includes Community Mental Health and University Counseling settings. Kristina is also involved in university-based mental health research and has published a number of papers in her field. She is particularly interested in matters relating to Schizophrenia and other severe mental illness. In her practice, Kristina utilizes a Humanistic-Existential framework.

Clyde H. Hedgcoth, Jr., M.Ed. is a former teacher and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Research Psychology. He has written his dissertation proposal on the comorbidity of sexual addiction and social isolation. He works for Psych Central as a researcher, resource editor, and community moderator (he posts under the username Clyde). He is Psych Central's Resources Editor, the Psych Central Answers Editor and the Editor for our sister site, PsychSplash. He has one son and he is a card-carrying member of the American Psychological Association and the Missouri Psychological Association. Clyde has taught public school, continuing education, and some college courses.
Dr. Holly R. Counts, is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Ohio. She obtained her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in the field of psychology. Dr. Counts has been practicing in Ohio since 1996, after obtaining her Psy.D. from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She has worked in a variety of settings including a private psychiatric hospital, a school for SED adolescents, a community mental health center, and a psychiatry office. This ultimately led to her beginning her own private practice in 2002. She specializes in trauma and abuse, domestic violence counseling, relationship/couple's issues, women's issues, adolescence, GLBT, grief counseling and integrating holistic alternative approaches to wellness with traditional psychology. Her clinical training was eclectic in nature which fits both her personality and her approach to therapy.
Stanley Popovich is the author of A Layman's Guide to Managing Fear Using Psychology, Christianity and Non Resistant Methods - an easy to read book that presents a general overview of techniques that are effective in managing persistent fears and anxieties.
